Education & Schools

We use archaeology to inspire K-12 students to care about our nature and the environment, history, and the culture of the first peoples of California.

Workshops (K-12)

Bring ASM Public Archaeology to your classroom! In these 60-minute workshops, students will participate in hands-on activities, engage in lively discussions, and deepen their understanding of the environment, history, and the culture of the first peoples of California.

Curriculum (K-12)

Incorporate archaeology into your classroom with our standards aligned lesson plans. Designed with California educators and students in mind, these lesson plans will connect students to local history, cultural heritage, and inquiry-based learning across content areas.

Archaeology Field School Day (HS & College)

Step into the role of an archaeologist! ASM’s Public Archaeology team is excited to offer a field school day that provide high school and college students with immersive experiences where participants will learn about field methods, site stewardship, and responsible preparation and preservation techniques.
